The Cedar Lake Yacht Club is one of the premier sailing clubs in Wisconsin with a focus on competitive racing and great social events for kids and adults. Each of our fleets conduct competitive racing in large fleets that will be sure to satisfy all. Our sailing school program provides instruction for all kids age seven to sixteen with classes for all experience levels. The newly remodeled club is spectacular and is situated on a beautiful point in the middle of Big Cedar Lake.

The CLYC's five classes are the C, MC, Melges 15, X boat, and the Optimist Dinghy. Club members can also join the radio controlled F Fleet. Whatever your age and skill level, there's a fleet that's right for you!

CLYC always welcomes new members.

For information, please contact the Membership Committee Chair through our Contact Us page.

Steak and Salmon Dinner - Saturday 5/10

Winn Eckert will be hosting a Steak and Salmon dinner on Saturday 5/10 as part of the annual Spring Regatta! This will be a great way to kick off the season. Tickets are only $30, and you can choose Tenderloin, Salmon, or some of each. Dinners will also include baked potatoes, veggies, salad, and rolls.

In order to keep the costs reasonable, we are asking that everyone RSVP and pay by Friday 5/2 by 11:59 PM. We very likely will not have any extra for you if you do not register by that time - sign up early so we get to see you there!

Membership Renewal Registration is Now Open

Registration is now open to renew your CLYC Membership for the 2025 season.  Please follow the link below to access the registration page.  Please remember to access the registration, you will need to log into your SportsEngine Account.

New Time Capsule

During the demolition process a time capsule was found behind the 1960 cornerstone. Below are pictures of the items that were found. These will be returned to the old time capsule and a new time capsule will be created behind the 2024 stone. If you have any small items or if you would like to include a note…please do not write a family history just a note on a special item.

This needs to be done ASAP! The stones for the time capsules will be installed soon.

The box is very small 10in long - 7 1/2in high - 3 3/4 in wide and is pretty full with original content.

If you have stickers, pins possibly a small flag would be nice.

Again we need items ASAP. In the next two weeks. You can bring items to our home or mail them. I’m sorry if things are not received in time to include them they will be returned to you. If you are unsure of your item you may send me a pic to jabest@charter.net or text 262-353-1923

Cedar Lake 2025 Spring Regatta

PRO's Chip Mann (C's) and Rick Trester (MC's) return for another year of quality race committee work; Return of the Tenderloin & Salmon Saturday night dinner from years past (still included in entry fee for skippers and one crew for C's); Chance to get on Big Cedar prior to get ready for the 2025 C Invitational (which is shaping up to be quite an event!); Free beer and soda all weekend long; As many short course races as we can fit in - races are 20-30 minutes long to allow for lots of starts and buoy roundings; Perfect for getting the kinks out for the season. Our newly renovated space was completed shortly after last year's regatta. You've got to see it! To guarantee your spot in the Saturday night dinner, register before the late registration deadline (May 5 - last day). We will do our best to accommodate later entries, but no guarantees past that point.

Trophy Return

Reminder from Mary Thoma - All Sailing Trophies MUST be engraved and polished by the May 24th return date.  Thank You!
