Building Addition Update -
Everyone that has been working so hard to make the club a better
facility would like you to know the status of the addition project.
Finance: As of November 27th, we have received 13 pledges in
excess of $103,000 and cash donations in excess of $20,000 for a very
early total of $123,000!! These funds have been deposited into our new
building addition bank account. I know that there is a gift giving
holiday fast approaching but we'd like you to remember that we are
asking for your pledges right now. You should have
already received a pledge request in the mail. If you haven't, please
let me know. Please take a moment and return it as soon as possible. We
honestly believe that our dedicated membership will have 100%
participation in making our club better for our future. No pledge is too
small or too large.
Building Design: We are meeting weekly with the design/build
contractor and progress is being made. There are significant challenges
completing the design that include building code, grade elevations,
setback from the "high water mark", and the position of the launching
ramp. With all of those issues we are confident that we are coming up
design that we all can get excited about. Within the next 10
days, we will be able to share with you the next level of design
Our last building project was when we constructed the main club
room that we use all summer long. Many of you will be surprised to know
that this last addition was in 53 years ago in 1960. Many of us were
not part of that addition, but we were fortunate that our membership of
that era could look forward and make the club better for our future. It
is now our time to contribute for our "Once In A Lifetime" plan for the
future! Please remember that we are also updating all the electrical
and plumbing facilities, which will last us the next 53 years.
The whole design/finance team would like to thank you, thank you,
thank you to everyone that has already sent in their pledge card and
await the rest of your pledges as soon as possible.
Lucky to be your Commodore during this historic time,
