This past weekend was one of the best at Cedar Lake. I tstarted with Friday night Bilge Puller spring meeting. This is a meeting that normally has about 50-60 people. Dave Baldus and his committee did a fantastic job getting the word out. We had over 90 people show up for the event and I heard a number of positive comments about our club and people. Bilge Puller has given the club two photos of our past Hall Of Fame winners, Walter Sprinkman and Art Best. We will be hanging them in the club for your viewing very soon.
The regatta on Saturday and Sunday was the best we have had in years. Brian Sprinkman and Paul Reilly did a superb job getting off lake sailors to come to our event. We had 21 C boats and 12 MC boats on the line for 5 races on Saturday. Chip and his committee did a great job of handling the races with challenging conditions. In the C fleet Jim Peterson I-25 was first, Ed Eckert second, and Jim Tews third. In the MC fleet Stephan Schmidt was first, Terry Mestan second, and Bill Best third. The full results will be posted on the web page.
What an opening party at the club Saturday night. Donna Sprinkman hosted a beautiful party. Thank you Donna and Brian. The Tom and Anita Hauske brought in ice cream Sundaysfor desert that I that heard from many the toppings were out of this world.
Again, I want to thank Dave Baldus, Brian Sprinkman, Ed Eckert, Paul Reilly, and Peter Dobbeck as the main people in the committee along with all of the rest of the people that gave of their time and energy to make this a successful weekend.

Come to the pancake breakfast on May 26th starting at 9:00 am. This is going to be a great event, so come and see all the friends that you haven't seen all winter. Following the breakfast will be a sailing school parents meeting at 10:00. This will be a chance to ask any questions and get signed up for sailing school. Also, our instructors will be available between10:00 and 12:00 to help our Opti and X boat sailors get their boats tuned up for the year. This is an excellent opportunity to get all of our kids started out well, so please bring your boats over to the club and we will get them all set up and tuned.
Until next time...
