Happy February! It is hard to believe that we will be sailing in 4 months and with the warm weather it maybe sooner.
Last Friday was the mid winter meeting at the West Bend County Club was there were about 40 people in attendance. I was able to officially recognize the outgoing board members for their years of service, Pam Erdman, Chris Genthe, Terry Mestan, and Dale Kent. We also introduced the new members, Laura Kletti, Anne Sacotte, Nina Garlie, and Doug Kracht.
A good portion of the meeting was spent on the explanation of the By-Law changes. The one change that does affect the membership is the due date for your dues is now March 1st, not April 1st. If you want to be listed in the membership directory that is published in the yearbook make sure to return your dues or go online to http://www.clyc.com by March 1st.
Deb Rolfs and Jenny Jaessing are planning the Commodore Party for June 9th. Make sure and mark your calendar. I’m sure there will be more details to follow.
The spring regatta is scheduled for May 12-13 this year. Saturday night will be the first social event for the club a great dinner being planned. More details to follow.
Back in November the membership committee sent out a survey to the membership. One of the questions was what needs to be improved and the majority response was the need for more volunteers. There are a number of people that step up and help at the club whether it is as race officers, lunches, dinners, or social events. For all of you help last year, THANK YOU!
As you are thinking about this New Year and we will again need your help in a number of areas. When you are filling out your membership renewal form keep in mind the following areas; Yearbook, Saturday lunches, Wednesday night dinners, work day spring and fall, race officer, 2nd boat assisting the race officers, Social coordinator, flower maintenance on the grounds, regattas (we have 4 this year).
There are a number of committees that need your help, such as membership, merchandise, yearbook, web page, bartenders, sailing school to name a few.
Your voice has been heard in the survey, now the club needs you to make a difference and offer a hand.
